The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, has one of the worlds premier collections of Old Kingdom art, thanks to George Reisner’s celebrated expeditions during the first decades of the last century. Although individual objects from the collection have appeared in numerous publications as quintessential examples of their time, never before have the best of them been presented in a single volume. Nor have many of the fascinating archival photographs of the excavations been published as they are here.
